These are some types of knots:

Thumb Knot:-

This knot is mostly used to make rope end strong.

Reef Knot:-

It is mostly used to join two ropes of the same thickness.

Single Sheet Bend:-

Single Sheet Bend

From this kind of knot one can join two dry ropes with each others. Mostly it is used when a rope became small and it needs to be long then we use this knot to increase length of the rope.

Double Sheet Bend:-

We use this type of knot to join two wet ropes. It is mostly used in rescue operations when rescuers use ropes for any operation and they join it during rain or during fire because during these conditions ropes became wet.

Sheep Shank Knot:-

Sheep Shank Knot

This type of knot is used in that condition when we have only one rope but that is not much strong for our use. Also we use this knot to decrease the length of a long rope when needed.

Draw Hitch Knot:-

This type of knot is mostly used in the repelling of fireman or rescuers. Peoples use it when they need support in upper building or floor.

Clove Hitch Knot:-

This type of knot is used to tie animals with any rod etc and also used to tie shelters and sheds etc. During applying this knot only one end of the rope is used.

Figure Eight Knot(Flemish):-

This knot provide its user a secure loop or stopper at one end of the rope. It can be undo more easily then other stopper knots.

Bowline Knot:-

Bowline is used during rescue operations when a fireman or rescuer tie it with its back and goes for rescue. It is because that fire man can untie it when he feels danger for himself.

Thumb Hitch Knot:-

Thumb Hitch Knot

It is mostly used in floods when there is a need to lift heavy things from water. Due to these knots rescuers tie woods or other things and hatch them out to decrease the danger.

These were some knots which are used in different rescue operations or other operations by rescue teams of Civil Defense.
