OBJECTS OF CIVIL DEFENCE:

To reduce to the minimum the number of casualties in the people.
To minimum damage and dislocation to essential services.
To ensure un-interrupted production in mills and factories.
To provide active civilian support to war efforts.
To maintain in the people a high moral and strong "will to win".
To augments the measure for the successful conduct of disaster mitigation operation.
To maintain among the people a high standard of morale and a "strong will to survive" during all sort of calamities.
